Get Involved
UUSJ advances Unitarian Universalist principles on Capitol Hill through engagement, education, and advocacy (email info@uusj.org for more information):
1. Selecting issues that are moving in Congress and important to UUs.
2. Arrange virtual meetings with Congressional staff so UUs can communicate with Congress.
3. Issuing Action Alerts, allowing UUs to express our values.
4. Maintaining Issue Action Teams on our priority issues (currently Immigration, Democracy, Environment, Economics).
5. Conducting workshops and webinars to educate on emerging issues and effective advocacy.
6. Organizing witnessing activities, including participating in the Women’s March, Immigration Justice, and the Poor Peoples’ Campaign.
The UUSJ Democracy Action Team has developed a step-by-step action plan to help identify works throughout the year. We provide presentations, training, and a checklist for congregations to use Online Action Plan
